The first in Russia Vorobyi Birds Park is located in the Zukovsky District of the Kaluga region in 20 kilometres from Obninsk on the bank of the Istya River. This is a wonderful place for family recreation, especially for children. The collection of the park contains more than 200 species of birds from all parts of the world – birds of prey, foresters, fowls, waterfowl and, of course, exotic birds. Vorobyi Birds Park is not only a place for recreation and any amusements you can imagine, but also a place for serious education and research.
Other animals live side-by-side with birds – a donkey, a bull-calf, goats and lambs will meet visitors in a small zoo. Tourists can take a commemorative picture with rare birds, visit an ostrich farm, on weekends – to ride a pony or a horse. There is a paintball club Berkut for adventure travellers. In winter, you can do tubing on an icy slide. In April, the Birds Park always celebrates the International bird day. Last year a new exhibit, Stone park, embellished the vast territory of the recreation camp.
It is easy to feel yourself in a Garden of Eden among birds, so you will not want to leave this fabulous place. There is Ivolga Hotel in the territory of the park. Seven small wooden houses wait visitors on the high bank of the Istya River. They were build according to environmental Canadian technology, ensuring comfortable living conditions all year round. Visitors are provided with Pelikan café, two saunas, free parking, a ground for shish kebab, a souvenir shop.
