Bolshoy Ustinsky Bridge

Bolshoy Ustinsky Bridge is a bridge that spans the Moskva River at its intersection with the Boulevard Ring, near the mouth of Yauza River (hence its name). It connects Yauzsky Boulevard with Sadovnichesky Proezd.

In its turn, the Komissariatsky Bridge continues the Bolshoy Ustinsky Bridge path across Vodootvodny Canal. The bridge was constructed in 1938 not far from the eponymous arch bridge built in 1881. The peculiarity of Ustinsky Bridge is the absence of visible land abutments. Two below-ground abutments – flat foundations the size of 31.2 * 40 meters each – support the entire bridge construction.
