Patriarshy Bridge

Patriarshy Bridge is a footbridge opened in 2004. It is located opposite the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, spanning the Moskva River and connecting Prechistenskaya and Bersenevskaya Embankments; its second (stylobate) part goes through Bolotny Island and spans the Vodootvodny Canal ending on the Yakimanskaya Embankment.

The bridge was designed by the architect M. Posokhin, artist Z. Tsereteli and engineers A. Kolchin and O. Chemerinsky. It is characterized by unusual truss of its load-bearing superstructure. In general, this is a traditional construction typical of the 19th century architecture.
