Adam and Eve Fountain
6 Pyatnitskaya Str.
How to reach the object: M: Novokuznetzkaya
The official opening of the fountain took place in 2007, and was timed to coincide with the 860th anniversary of Moscow. Upon the project of the sculptor Maria Levinskaya, the "Adam and Eve" fountain was installed in a place of former temporalities of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Chapel.
The statues of Adam and Eve are placed in the middle of the fountain under the Eden Tree with Serpent coiled around it. The crown of the tree, which is literally awash with figures of heavenly birds, apples and insect wings, is impressive. According to the biblical scene, Eve is holding an apple in her hand.
The "Adam and Eve" fountain is particularly unusual in the evening when it is illuminated with two rows of lanterns located north and south of the composition.
