Resurrection the Goritsky monastery for women
Воскресенский Горицкий женский монастырь
The female Goritsky Monastery of Resurrection is a Russian Orthodox convent, architectural ensemble of XVI-XIX centuries.
Nuns of the monastery were two wifes of Ivan the Terrible (Anna Koltovskaya and Maria Nagaya), Xenia Godunova, the daughter of Tsar Boris Godunov, duchess Marfa Cherkasskaya and her nephew Michael, the future tsar and founder of the Romanov dynasty. Now there are 15 noviciates currently living in the monastery — among them are 5 nuns. The place is well-known among the pilgrims who attent the monastery especially at summer time.
