Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Arts is the only museum in Russia, which united in its collection decorative and applied artworks of Russia of XVIII-XX centuries. Metal artworks (including jewelry of leading Russian firms of XIX — beginning of XX centuries and also scarce collection of samovars and art castings), Russian artistic varnishes, porcelain and glass made by Imperial and private plants and also works of famous modern artists of decorative and applied art are presented here. Collection of decorative and applied artworks of Russian modern style (including Vrubel, Golovin, Malyutin, Konenkov, Andreev and other works), and also collection of Soviet art of 1920-1950th, including agitation porcelain and fabrics have no analogs. For the last years, museum collection has been replenished by fantastic works of modern artists (V. I. Mukhina, B. A. Smirnov, V. S. Muratov and many others). Collection of the rare books you can find kept in museum library and unique hand-written materials are placed in special archive.
