The Small Hall of Conservatory was opened in 1898 with "Musical Morning Sacred to Memory of Tchaikovsky" concert that had been sacred to five years of death of the Great Russian composer. Organ of master Friedrich Ladegast, presented to the Conservatory in 1886, was placed to1959 inthe Small Hall. Since 2006, the hall is named in honor of composer S.I. Taneyev. The Small Hall is famous due to its chamber evenings and it constantly attracts sophisticated fans of unique music, which is sounding here. Different concerts and festivals (including P. I. Tchaikovsky Contest), as well as class evenings, are performed in this hall, which is the most convenient hall ofMoscowhalls. The hall includes 436 seats.
