This church was built in 1625-1665 and exemplifies the architectural trends of the period, although the belltower was built later, in the 19th century. Its original name was from the Bronnaya Village, that is to say, the place where "bronniki" lived, or the people who made armor and weapons. In Soviet times the church was closed and used as an additional space for a chamber theater (at that time it was the A.S. Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater). Now it functions again as a church and holds services.
