The Big Yashalta Lake is situated in the territory of the Yashaltinsky district of the Republic of Kalmykia. It belongs to the Manych group of relict lakes and located between the villages Solyenoye and Beryozovskoye.
Total area of the Lake is 40 square km, length — 8 km and width — 5 km.
There’s much to see in the vicinity of the lake. In the vicinity there is a Tulip island, which is known for its herd of wild horses. Close to it, within the territory of the reserve “Black lands”, lake Manych-Gudilo is located. It is a unique water reservoir, that is known for the sounds it produces.
Fishing on the Big Yashalta Lake is popular. Fishermen can be seen here throughout the year. The Lake is known for a big variety of fish: perch, redeye, roach, silver bream and others.
