The Khadzhokh Gorge tourist site is located in the southern part of Kamenomostsky village near the entrance to Khadzhokh Gorge. Its old name is Shum (noise) Canyon. Since 1979 the Gorge is a local monument of nature and is in traffic schedule of groups passing All-Union Tourist Route # 30.
The width of the canyon is 6-7 meters and in some places little more than 1.5 meters. The depth to the surface is 35 meters and the length of the canyon is 400-600 meters. The underwater part of the canyon has deep rocky niches. The gorge is equipped with observation decks with railings, passage staircases, and rest areas. Animals are kept in three corners of the site: two corners have live bears and one corner is populated with waterfowl.
The Gorge as a tourist and excursion complex is equipped with parking and café, small market, mini-hotel and sauna, and children’s attraction.
One can order jeep trips and sightseeing bus, buy handmade souvenirs from local craftsmen. The crafts are made from plaster, wood, and clay. Experienced guide will conduct an exciting excursion.
Khadzhokh Gorge’s altitude above sea level is 450 meters.
