Omsk citizens worship the marshal under whose command more than half of the Omsk soldiers served during the Great Patriotic War.
Sculpture composition represents an artificial mound of 11.5 metres high, on top of which there is the sculpture of Georgy Zhukov. There are backups installed at the foundation of the monument with heraldic bas-reliefs with the names of the divisions formed in Omsk. The statue of Zhukov is a cast bronze sculpture of 5 meters high. It was made at the Omsk P.I. Baranov's motor construction factory in the workshops № 1 and № 31. The monument was constructed for four months.
The monument was erected at the intersection of Marshala Zhukova and 10 let Oktyabrya. The Grand opening was held on May 8, 1995 to the 50-th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. People's artist of the USSR, M.A. Ulyanov, in his speech at the ceremonial meeting, noted that the opening of the monument to marshal Zhukov is a sign of deep respect to our history. This monument is dedicated not only to G.K.Zhukov, but also to Siberian regiments and divisions.
