Boulevards, green alleys along the streets and rivers are decorations of the city. Such places with their shady corners, beautiful views and opportunity to take a break from stressful rhythm of city life attract the people of large cities.
Victory Boulevard opened in Omsk in 1960 crosses one of the major urban highways — Prospekt Karla Marksa and goes on the Irtyshskaya Embankment. Its length is 500 meters and the width at the narrowest place is approximately 65 meters. Thus, Victory Boulevard represents a public garden, planted with greenery and flowers in summer. The monument of Glory to Heroes was erected on the Boulevard in May 1985 in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Victory over the fascist invaders. It begins with the stele «Glory to the Heroes» which opens the complex. Further to the left of the central alley there is a monument-tank installed on the pedestal. This is a combat vehicle T-34 with army number 327.
At the end of the Boulevard, near the Irtyshskaya Embankment, there is a monument «Glory to the Heroes» which glorifies the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and heroes of labour who worked in the rear.
