The Moksha Center of National Culture in the village of Staraya Terizmorga is one of the most renowned cultural centers in Mordovia. It was inaugurated in 1992.
The center includes the Krestyanskaya Izba (Peasant House) open-air ethnographic museum, which was inaugurated in 2007 during the Finno-Ugric people's festival Shumbrat, Finno-Ugria! The museum recreates the life of a typical Mordovian peasant family.
The Moksha Center of National Culture exhibits embroidery, national costumes, another other items manufactured by specialists in Moksha folk art. Visitors can also listen to Mordovian songs performed by a folk choir. By the way, the folk choir of Staraya Terizmorga is a laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Mordovia. The center also hosts the Laimonya Children's Ensemble and a folk embroidery club.
