A monument to the pioneers of scuba diving in the Pacific is on Ship quay of Vladivostok. Was installed in 2006 at the request of members of the far Eastern club of submariners and the support of the deputies of the Primorsky territory. Is a plaque with the names of characters: names of commanders and their submarines. This monument sign is of significant Patriotic importance to the people of the city of Vladivostok, as well as nurturing the moral and spiritual education of youth.
In Vladivostok in 1905 began the annals of the Russian submarine fleet: in the war with Japan launched the first domestic submarines, most of which were fish names – "Bull", "Dolphin", "Whale", "Mullet", "Burbot", "Sturgeon", "Halibut", "Roach", "SKAT", "Som", "Trout", "Pike". Submarines guarding Vladivostok from Japanese destroyers and reducing the threat of possible attack by enemy ships.
During the laying of the memorial stone on the waterfront Ship Vice-Admiral stock A. Konev put under an impressive looking boulder with a bronze plaque small, flat, well-trimmed sea the stone which gave the main base of the Pacific fleet submariners of Kamchatka. Thus, they wished to be part of this significant event.
