Yachting in Vladivostok has a long history, with roots Dating back to the days when sailing was not a sport, and regular freight and passenger transport. Gradually, however, the sailing became part of the leisure of wealthy citizens.
The first documentary evidence on the attempt to create the Vladivostok yacht club refers to 1899, when members of the group lovers of Sea sports have created the Charter of the club. In 1907 a local newspaper of upominaetsya club near Admiralty pier. And at the beginning of the second decade of the twentieth century in Vladivostok hosted the sailing competitions in the Bay of Zolotoy Rog and the Amur Bay. After the establishment of Soviet power in sailing in the far East there was a lull and only in the late 40's-early 50-ies organized the first mass relative to a regional regatta.
In the early 80-ies of XX century in Vladivostok, there were three of the yacht club "Vodnik", "Spartacus", CTOF, as well as the sailing section of the FEHEMC. Conducted regatta: Cup of the Peter the Great Bay Cup admirals. I. Nevelskoy.
The last two decades of yachting in Vladivostok is undergoing rapid development, calendar of sailing races and regattas, both regional and international level is extremely saturated, and it's impossible to imagine the blue expanse of the waters of the city without the blossoms of the sails.
In Vladivostok, several yacht clubs located in the Amur Bay on the island of Russian ("the Veterans and sea cadets fleet"), as well as in the satellite town of Artyom ("RIF"). The most famous, with a long tradition, a significant number of athletes and a solid material base, are "Seven Feet" yacht clubmassage State University "Navigator".
