The monument to the War Child was built to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War's beginning. The Veterans» Council of the Partizanskiy urban district became the thought leader of the monument's creation. The monument's uniqueness attaches particular importance to it. It is the second memorial dedicated to the feat of the little heroes. The first one is located in Saint Petersburg.
This monument carries extrinsic value: it reminds that the war has no age and everyone is able to make a contribution to the Victory.
The memorial stele «The childhood singed by war» consists of two columns. The first one is dedicated to the feat of the Great Patriotic War's participants. The phrase « First they won the honours but then they got their passes» is carved in the stone. The second column perpetuates the feat of the child who replaced their fathers and grandfathers at the workplaces in the years of war and also in post war period. The most part of those who worked at the Partizansk’s mines during the war were under-age. The young tailors worked in the interest of their native land producing the armaments for the frontline.
Not coincidentally the placement location of the monument is square near the Partizansk's museum. A lot of locals and town visitors have an opportunity to express their gratitude to the war heroes.
