In 2007 in Omsk Regional Museum of Fine Arts named after M.A. Vrubel a permanent exhibition of microminiatures of Anatoly Konenko was opened. Konenko, a local citizen has been studying microminiature since 1981; he was a pioneer in this field. Within a short period of time he invented and mastered technologies of writing on rice and poppy seeds and of working with a human hair. Because of the lack of methodical guidelines, technological descriptions and world experience in this art genre, Konenko had to spend years on searching technologies and invention of microinstruments, and shaping of new approaches in creating microcompositions. A special feature of these works is that you need optical devices to create them and get to know them.

One of the genres in which Konenko proved himself the most active is minature book. Since 1994 he has published about 200 microbooks editions in 30-99 copies each. Among them there are 35 minibooks and 14 microbooks by A.S. Pushkin; due to this fact in 1997 the artist became an Honored Member of World Pushkin Club in New York (Honored Members of this Club are also E. Yevtushenko, B. Akhmadulina). Some minibooks strike with their originality, for instance, a microbook made in shape of garmon (a Russian button accordion) “Vasily Tyorkin”.

Publishing minibooks and microbooks A. Konenko expresses himself as painter, designer, engraver and bookbinder. All the works are performed manually. In 1997 in Moscow at the competition of bookbinding the master was included in the top three best bookbinders of Russia. Anatoly Konenko succeeded in publishing a supermicrobook (with copies) smaller than 1 mm, and by all the criteria (size, number of pages, number of lines and letters on the page, hardcover, color illustrations), it surpassed the Scottish one (1 x 1,5 mm) published in 1986. It was officially announced at the XV World Congress in Bethlehem City (USA), where Anatoly Konenko presented his supermicrobook by A. Chekhov Chameleon of 0,9 x 0,9 mm size. In 2002 it entered the Guinness Book of Records. This record put Russia on the world's top first position in the field of microbooks publishing. One copy of this book belongs to Russian Presidential Library.

In 2006 Anatoly Konenko together with his son Stanislaw published a supermicrobook of 0,8 х 0,8 mm size “Alphabet” (printed in two colors). Alphabet books of 13 nations were published. In 2011 the author got World Record Academy's recognition for creation of the most little aquarium in the world.

Exhibition of Konenko's works are regularly held in different cities of the country and abroad (USA, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Spain, Japan, China). His works belong to many museums of the world, private collections and libraries.
