Monument to Semenov in Vladivostok is placed in front of the Union writers» house of Primorsky Krai, on the Aleutskaya street, 19. It was opened on 1 July 1995. The sculptor is N.P. Montaj.
The restoration of the monument to Semenov was completed in 2010.
Monument is represented by an image of the first civil resident of the city, well-known public figure, the first honorary citizen of Vladivostok.
A merchant from Nikolaevsk-on-Amur arrived in 1860 (the year of its foundation as a military post, devoid of civilian inhabitants) and lived here for 42 years. He famously did a good business in the implementation of marine algae, has produced scholarly works dealing with the rules of production and preparation of algae. In the house № 46 on the street Svetlanskaya he lived the last ten years of his life. The monument consists of a granite base, a metal pedestal and a bronze bust.
