Avenue of stars was opened in Vladivostok on 10th of December, 2015. The idea of its creation was proposed during the 13th international film festival «Pacific Meridian». It represents the hand prints of famous people of art, which crowned a stele with the marine symbol of the city of Vladivostok, Chaika.
The first of those who have left handprints for the future of the Avenue of stars, became the president of the festival, film director, screenwriter, producer, general director of film concern «Mosfilm» Karen Shakhnazarov. Here you can also see the fingerprints of the director and the writer Boris Grachevsky, people's artist of Russia, film director Vadim Abdrashitov, one of the greatest jazz saxophonists of our time Igor Butman and British actress Julia Ormond, a cult Korean Director Kim Ki Duka, the American historian Rock Brynner — the son of Hollywood actor Yul Brynner born in Vladivostok, which has already become a kind of symbol of the Pacific Meridian film festival, actress Larissa Belobrova.
The monument was built for 1.5 weeks, some elements were made of special stainless steel, smooth material. Avenue of stars is located near the cinema «Ocean», which is also symbolic, since «Ocean» is the main venue of the festival.
