It is dedicated to the Orthodox Saints who are considered as the patrons of the marriage. Their spousal typifies love and devotedness. The Feast of Love, Family and Trustfulness are officially celebrated on 8th of July and 19th of September but the memory about the Saints Peter and Fevronia is perpetuated in many sculptural complexes. Konstantin Chernyavskiy had implemented the idea of the monument in Vladivostok.
The site for the memorial is located at the junction of three streets of the city at the top of which the Pokrovskiy Cathedral stands. Pokrovskiy park with the monument to the Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom is located in the very Vladivostok's center, it is the most favourite place for promenades among locals and tourists.
The sculpture depicting enamoured Peter and Fevronia is the place for meeting of the loving couples and it is the point of the wedding corteges» passage. The monument itself was unveiled on 2nd of July 2009 and depicts the Saints in the luxuriant princely suits who stand side by side and hold three pigeons in their hands. In addition, there is the third figure on the pedestal — a hare, which, according to the legend, was Fevronia's favourite.
