Zharikovskiy square is located near the «Dal'zavod» bus stop. It is a unique place of interest and a special recreational area. There used to be Zharikovskiy galley located in proximity to the sea. The place was named after Vasiliy A. Zharikov — the merchant of the Second Guild who had been dealing with the trade and cooperating to the social institutions» construction for a long time.
The merchant himself and his family stayed at the house with the number 119 locating at the city's main street — Svetlanskaya. The gulley near his house divided the neibourhoods of the city. Zharikov covered the gulley with soil and set up the garden on its place. The garden was named after its creator later.
The major reconstruction was conducted here in 2006. New species of trees provided by the Botanical Garden were planted; the night-time lightening and benches for the visitors» convenience were installed.
