The monument to Muraviev-Amurskiy is located in the centre of the same-named square. Nikolay Muraviev had an honourable record of service and a lot of regales. The Treaty of Aigun was made due to his smart diplomacy. What is more, he turned attention to the locked harbour, where Vladivostok was established with the passing of times.
The monument is of four meters high and it represents the figure of the Nikolay Muraviev with the Treat of Aigun in his hands. The city's name «Vladivostok» consists from two routes: “Vladet"» (to rule) and «Vostok» (the East). The city got its name also due to Nikolay Muraviev-Amursky.
The glorious view of the City, Zolotoy Rog Bay as well as the view of the Vladivostok’s historical centre opens from the location place of the monument.
