Near a stele the bronze bust of V. I. Kuzmin is established. Valery Ilyich Kuzmin is a commander of the Yakut united aviation group of the Yakut civil aviation authority, Hero of Socialist Work, the first Yakut pilot. He was born on November 7, 1918 in the village of Innyakh (nowadays Olyokma district of the Republic of Sakha), in a farming family. In the fall of 1935 he registered in just opened flight and glider school. The next year in the direction of the Yakut organization of "Osoaviakhim" was admitted for study to the Ulyanovsk joint school of pilots and aircraft technicians, it was enlisted on flight department. In September, 1937 returned to native Yakutia the diplomaed pilot. Became the first yakut-pilot.
At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, in October, 1941, it was enlisted in the order of the Yakut aviagroup of Management of a special air-line. Кузьмин as пилот served researchers and builders of the ALSIB line. Since 1942 before the end of war personally participated in distillation of the American planes on the route ALSIB. In 1943 there was the second pilot of the plane Douglas С-47.
In post war years Kuzmin took active part in development of the coast of the Arctic Ocean and in investigation of diamond fields in the west of Yakutia. Became the first Yakut pilot who mastered 12 aircraft type. In May, 1958 became the pilot of the 1st class, three times the millionaire — the pilot flying one million километров.
In 1969 headed the Yakut civil aviation authority. During its management the civil aviation of Yakutia made jump in development, the fleet was updated, the geography of flights is expanded. In 1973 to Kuzmin the rank of the Hero of Socialist Work with delivery of the Order of Lenin and the gold medal "Sickle and Hammer" is given. It is awarded by three awards of the Labour Red Banner, awards of the Red Star, the Honour Sign, medals. Honored pilot of the USSR. Honorary citizen of the city of Yakutsk. After a retirement lived in Yakutsk. Died on June 1, 1983.
