The name of the «Kyys Amma» monument in Russian means «girl Amga». The monument was erected in the village Amga on the embankment of the river of the same name. Residents of old associate their native river with a beautiful girl. River Amga repeatedly sang the songs, stories and poems for her exquisite beauty, virginal purity and calm disposition.
Opening of the monument took place on September 10, 2011 on The Day of Amga Sloboda within the 100-year anniversary of the formation Amginsky region. The monument was cast in Buryatia.
