Monument to Lenin is located in the city center on Lenin Square in front of the Government House №2.
The monument was opened in October 25, 1967. The reason why so much time passed between the laying of the monument and the setting is permafrost. Long-term studies have concluded that in Yakutsk is possible to build the monument, with more than 3.5 meters. But the pedestal was empty for a long time. High pedestal tested for strength. Every summer, in the heat, and in the cold in the midst of frost, it carefully examined, whether strictly perpendicular walls changed. Builders waited stabilizing pedestal stability, just as before, "was allowed to stand" piles, and only then build them a building.
The authors are architects Ozhegov, Milovidov and sculptor Pods.
