+7 (978) 0049122

This architectural monument has become a kind of emblem of the Southern coast of the Crimea. An intricate structure that resembles a medieval knight’s castle in miniature bravely clung to the very edge of a steep cliff Avrorova of Monastyr-Burun.

“Swallow’s Nest” was built by Baku oil baron W. Shneigel in 1911-1912 according to the project of architect L.V. Sherwood. In 1927, during an earthquake, a part of the rock collapsed, but the building stood, however, for many years it was considered unsafe and was closed. It was restored in 1971.

A solid reinforced concrete rock was laid under its bottom, cracks were concreted, restoration work was carried out.
