Fountain “Night” in Gurzuf
Fountain “Night” performed by German artist Berger was purchased in 1898 by the owner of the resort of Gurzuf, Gubonin, at the Vienna Fair. It is a typical example of plastics of the end of XIX century, when allegorical images and baroque forms for their implementation were widely used.
The fountain is located in the center of a circular pool; at the bottom there are stone sinks for runoff water. Multi-shape composition is topped with a ball – a symbol of the celestial sphere and the figure of the Night.
