The Pushkin State Museum in Moscow was established at the motherland of Alexander Sergeevich in 1957. Famous Pushkin scholars and wide public took part in creation of the museum in the middle of the last century. In museum funds more than 200 thousand monuments are presented, including invaluable gift - unique library of Russian poetry collected by I. N. Rozanov. From the first days of work museum was essentially donated with the items related to the name of Pushkin: portraits, books, manuscripts, engravings, porcelain and furniture. In 1997, in the year of 850th anniversary of Moscow, it was museum rebirth on the eve of 200th anniversary of poet`s birth. As a result of museum reconstruction and restoration it became multipurpose museum and cultural center for scientific, exposition and exhibition, concert, educational, restoration and preservation works
